Am vergangenen Samstag habe ich mich für einen halbtägigen Kurztrip nach Basel aufgemacht. Hauptziel war dort der Zolli, der Zoo von Basel. Um die Schweizer Autobahnmaut zu sparen, die ich dann wegen 5 km doch nicht bezahlten wollte, führte mich mein Weg auch noch wenige Kilometer durch Frankreich ;-).
Nach dem Besuch im Zoo ging es bei sehr schönem Wetter noch eine kleine Runde in die schöne Altstadt von Basel. Und so konnte ich mich auch etwas auf das “Schwizerdütsch” einzustellen, da es in der kommenden Woche dann noch für 1 1/2 Tage nach Rotkreuz in der Nähe vom Luzern geht, um dort bei einem Kunden einen Spezifikationsworkshop abzuhalten.

Last Saturday, I did a half-day trip to Basel, a city in Switzerland just next to the German border. It took me around 2 hours and 15 minutes to drive the 250 kilometers to get there. And as I wanted to save the tolls for the Swiss highways, I even drove a few kilometers on some French roads ;-).
My main destination in Basel was the “Zolli”, the zoo of Basel. After the visit there, I walked around the nice and ancient city center of Basel while enjoying the great weather with a lot of sunshine. And I even could get myself a bit used to the Swiss German dialect there ;-). That’s good as I’ll be in Switzerland again next week for 1 1/2 days in Rotkreuz, a small city near Lucerne. But that time, I’ll be there for business reasons as our customer is sitting there and we’ll have a workshop with them there.
