Vor einer Weile ging es in den Kuala Lumpur Bird Park (Vogelpark). Laut Eigenwerbung der zweitgrößte begehbare Vogelpark der Welt nach Singapur.
Überrascht wurde ich schon an der Kasse des Parks. Wie bei vielen Sehenswürdigkeiten gibt es unterschiedliche Preise für einheimische Besucher (RM 20, ca. 5,50 Euro) sowie Touristen (RM 45, ca. 12 Euro).
Als ich dann eine Karte für einen lokalen Besucher sowie eine Touristenkarte kaufen wollte, wurde ich vom Mann an der Kasse gefragt, ob ich denn ein Bewohner von Malaysia sein.
Nachdem ich ihm eine Kopie meiner Arbeitserlaubnis gezeigt habe, die ich immer in meinem Geldbeutel herumtrage, bekam ich dann auch den Preis für lokale Leute :-).

Danach ging es dann in den relativ großen Vogelpark. Dieser ist wirklich sehr schön gestaltet und es gibt viele Vögel zu sehen :-).
So gibt es unter anderem einen sehr großen künstlichen Wasserfall. Darum ist ein großes Freigehege gespannt, in dem viele Vögel umher fliegen.

Beim Laufen durch das Freigehege haben wir dann auch ein sehr lustige Ereignis gehabt:
Ein Milchstorch stand dort an einer Engstelle des Weges. Als wir vorbei laufen wollte, hat der Vogel versucht uns anzugreifen.
Nach einer Weile gab er dann seine Ruhe und wir konnten uns an ihm vorbei schleichen.
Das Bild unten zeigt den Storch im Angriff auch mich ;D.
Nach dem Verlassen des Freigeheges konnte ich dann ein arabisches Paar beobachten, dass dasselbe Erlebnis hatte.
Auch sie wurden von dem Storch angegriffen, waren jedoch auch immer so zögerlich, dass der Storch bemerkte, dass sie vorbei wollen und wieder auf das Paar los ging ;-).

A while ago, we went to Kuala Lumpur Bird Park. According to them, the 2nd largest bird park in the world after the one in Singapore.
I got the first surprise at the ticket counter. As quite common here in Malaysia, there’re different prices for locals (RM 20, ca. 5,50 Euro) and tourists (RM 45, ca. 12 Euro).
I wanted to acquire one card for a local and a tourist one. But then got asked by the guy there whether I’m a resident in Malaysia.
After showing him a copy of my working permit I’m carrying in my wallet, I only had to pay the lower price for local people :-).

After getting the ticket, we went inside the really large bird park.
The park is really nice and they’ve lot of interesting birds :-).
One of the attractions is a large, artificial water fall with bird flying around.

We also had a quite funny experience while walking through the outdoor enclosure besides the waterfall:
A milky stork stood at a XX of the way. As we wanted to pass by the stork tried to attach the two of us.
After a while, he lost interest and we could quickly pass by it.
The picture above is taken in exactly the moment the bird started to attack us.
After leaving the area, I watched an Arab couple also making the same “experience” with this stork.
They also got attacked by the stork but have been a bit more hesitant.
They always waited for some seconds and the bird always realized they want to pass by and attacked them again ;-).
