Jede Woche am Freitag ist hier “Casual Friday”, d.h. die Kleiderordnung ist nicht so strikt. Anstatt sonst Hemd + Stoffhose ist an Freitag dann auch Jeans und ein Shirt zulässig.
Wobei das Shirt dann einen Kragen haben sollte, also z.B. ein Polo Shirt. Als ich zu Beginn einmal mit dem T-Shirt im Büro war, wurde ich in einem Meeting von einem Manager gefragt, ob ich denn direkt nach dem Meeting an den Strand fahren will ;D.
Und auch diesen Freitag hatte ich eine etwas ungewöhnliche Kleiderwahl. Nachdem ich immer mal wieder von Proton-Kollegen angesprochen wurde, doch Baju Melayu anzuziehen, hab ich das am Freitag im Büro getan.
Am Freitag sieht man gelegentlich Leute, die das Oberteil tragen, jedoch meist ohne die passende Hose und oft auch in eher dunkleren Farben.
Als ich dann mit meinem blauen Baju ankam, habe ich natürlich viele Blicke und Kommentare geerntet. In der Entwicklungsabteilung war ich, wie mir später erzählt wurde, Gesprächsthema des Tages ;-).
Und die Projektmanagerin des Kunden wollte dann unbedingt ein Bild mit mir und dem gesamten Projektteam. Dazu hab ich dann in der Mittagspause auch noch Sampin (Rock/Umhang) sowie Sonkog (Hut) aus dem Auto geholt ;-).

Within Proton, our customer, the Friday is the casual day. So, I’m more free when choosing my clothes and don’t need to wear a chemise and pants. Also shirt and pants is ok.
But the shirt should have a collar, e.g. a Polo Shirt. When I went to the office once at the beginning wearing a T-Shirt, I got asked by a manager within a meeting whether I plan to go straight to the beach after that ;D.
Last Friday, I again did some unusual decision on my attire ;-). As I got asked quite some times in the office to wear my Baju Melayu, I finally did it on this day.
From time to time, I saw people wearing the Baju (only the top, without pants, and most likely no bright color) on Fridays.
While wearing the Baju and walking around, I got quite some looks and comments ;-). And later on I got told that all people in the Research and Development department spoke about me that day ;D.
And the project manager of the customer wanted to take a picture of me and the full project team. For that, I also went to the car during lunch break and picked my Sampin and Sonkog ;-).
