Nun geht es los mit dem Bericht über den Trip nach Langkawi.
Hier hieß es mal wieder früh aufzustehen um den AirAsia-Flug um halb acht morgens zu erreichen.
In knapp 1 Stunde Flugzeit wurde dann Langkawi erreicht, eine Inselgruppe mit knapp 100 Inseln an der Nordwestküste von Malaysia.

Nach der Ankunft habe ich dann erst einmal einen Mietwagen ausgewählt.
Da dort aktuell Nebensaison ist, gab es einen Toyota Vios für 180 RM für die 3 Tage, also knapp 15 Euro am Tag :-).

Erste Station nach der Ankunft war der Langkawi Cable Car, eine 2,2 km lange Seilbahn die auf eine Höhe von 700 Metern führt.
Aufgrund der Herstellerangaben für die Seilbahn (Doppelmayr) kamen dann wieder Erinnerungen an Seilbahnen beim Skifahren ;-).
Vom Gipfel des Berges hat man einen atemberaubenden Blick über Langkawi :-). Man kann von dort auf beide Küstenseiten der Insel schauen.
Als weitere Attraktion steht die knapp 150 Meter lange Sky Bridge zur Verfügung. Hier hat man einen wirklich tollen Blick :-).
Wenn man nicht schwindelfrei ist, sollte man jedoch nicht über das Geländer nach unten schauen, da es hier sehr weit runter geht ;D.

I’m now starting with my report about the Langkawi bridge.
First, I had to get up early again to reach the AirAsia flight at 7 30 in the morning.
After around 1 hour, the plane reached Langkawi a group of around 100 island at the north-west coast of Malysia.

After arriving, I first rented a car.
As it’s currently off-season, I got a Toyota Vios for 180 RM for the 3 days, so only around 15 Euro per day :-).

The first station was then the Langkawi Cable car, 2,2 km long and going up to a height of around 700 meters.
Reading the company constructing the cable car (Doppelmayr) made me remembering about some skiing days ;-).
Up the hill, the view over Langkawi is just breathtaking :-). You can see both coastal sides of the island.
Another attraction is the 150 m long Sky Bridge with another amazing view :-).
People having no head of heights should not look down over the handrail as it’s quite tall over the ground ;D.
