Hier mal eine kleine Anekdote heute aus dem Büro:
Heute hatte ich im Büro mal wieder ein Bewerbungsgespräch mit einem Kandidaten für unser Projekt.
Dieser hat immerhin technisch mehr zu bieten, als die bisherigen Kandidaten / Kandidatinnen, auch wenn er mich nicht vollends überzeugt hat.
Nachdem ich mit meinem Part fertig war, hab ich mich mit unserem Projektmanager zusammengesetzt um darüber zu sprechen.
Da hab ich dann gemeint, dass ich bei dem Kandidaten (ein indischer Staatsbürger) nicht überzeugt bin, dass er sehr lange bei HP bleiben wird bzw. den Support für die Software übernehmen will.
HP hat dem Kunden hier Wartung und Fehlerbehebung für 5 Jahre verkauft, d.h. es wird jemand gebraucht, der langfristig dabei bleibt.
Im Spaß hab ich dann gesagt: “Ich hab auch keine Ahnung, ob ich in 5 Jahren noch bei HP bin.”
Mein Projektmanager kam dann mit folgenden Antwort zurück: “Ich bin mir sicher, dass ich das nicht mehr sein werde. Ich tippe sogar darauf, dass Du nicht mal 1 ganzes Jahr mehr bei HP sein wirst. Du bist ein guter Mann und wirst Dich irgendwann nach einem interessanter / besser bezahlten Job umschauen”. 😉

Here a short story happened today in the office:
I had another job interview with a candidate for our project. He was at least better in the technical field than the previous ones though he didn’t fully convince me.
After finishing with my part I sat together with my project manager to speak about the interview.
I said that I’m not sure how long the candidate (an Indian citizen) will stay with HP and whether he really wants to do the support job for the Software here.
HP sold a 5 years support and warranty contract and so the person doing the support should stay with HP for a long time.
While speaking I said: “5 years is quite a while, not sure where I’ll be in 5 years and whether I’ll still be with HP”.
My project manager replied me then: “I’m sure you won’t stay with HP that long. I assume you don’t even stay with HP the next year. You’re a really good man and will for sure look for better / more interesting jobs” ;-).
