Kurze Zusammenfassung vorweg: Einfach spitze :-).
English
Saturday morning, we started around 11 30 AM on a longer journey to Kuala Gandah, around 135 km from here.
There, you can find the National Elephant Conservation Centre of Malaysia. The task of the center is to relocate elephants when their current habitat is endangered by plantations or housing constructions.
Short summary at the beginning: Just amazing :-). (And in addition, they don’t charge any entrance fee there)
The official program started at 2 PM with an introduction to the work of the center. In the meanwhile, some elephants got cleaned.
Afterwards, more elephants have been shown to the visitors and there was the possibility to touch and fondle the elephants :-).
In addition, the people could feed the small as well as the large elephants.
After feeding, it was time for elephant riding :-). Unfortunately, every visitor was only entitled to a small round ;-).
Hidaya was first a bit scared of the elephants and decided to ride only on a small elephant. But after my round, all the small elephants have already been gone.
At the end, she did a round on one of the large and said: “I’d really like to do another 10 rounds” :-).
And as the latest “attraction”, they’ve shown a really young elephant. Some visitors event fed him with milk :-).
