Am 2. Tag standen dann alle wichtigen Sehenswürdigkeiten, Gebäude und Orte im Norden Manhattans auf dem Programm. Dafür haben wir dann auch mehrere Kilometer zu Fuß zurückgelegt.
/ On day 2, we visited all the important sights, buildings and places in Northern Manhattan. To see all those places we had to walk several kilometers ;-).
Macy’s – das größte Kaufhaus der Welt / the largest shop in the world

Empire State Building – das aktuell höchste Gebäude New Yorks / currently the tallest building in New York

 

New York Public Library
mit Gutenberg Bibel (einem der ersten gedruckten Bücher in Europe) / with Gutenberg bible (a very famous book, as it is one of the first books ever printed in Europe)

 

Grand Central Terminal
Mit 67 Gleisen der größte Bahnhof weltweit / the largest train station in the world with 67 tracks

 

Chrysler Building

United Nations
Leider waren alle Flaggenmasten leer, da keine Sitzungen statt fanden / unfortunately all flag poles have been empty as there were no official meetings that day

 

Dafür gab es dann aber einen Friedensnobelpreis zu bewundern / But instead we could see a peace nobel prize 🙂

 

Und die deutsche Vertretung für die UN / and the building for the German representative near the United Nations building
