Letztes Wochenende bin ich in Kuala Lumpur auf die diesjährige Internationale Automobilausstellung gegangen, die im dortigen Putra World Trade Center stattfand. Diese kann dann aber nicht mit europäischen Ausstellungen wie IAA oder Genfer Autosalon mithalten.
In Kuala Lumpur sind vorwiegend asiatische Autohersteller vertreten und es werden nur wenige Konzeptfahrzeuge / Prototypen gezeigt. Am interessantesten waren dann die Stände von Proton und Perodua, die verschiedene Konzeptfahrzeuge vorgestellt haben :-).

Besonders gefällt man hierbei dann das Modell Proton Emas, ein kompaktes Elektrofahrzeug, das von Lotus und der italienischen Designfirma Giugiaro (mittlerweile zu Volkswagen gehörend) entworfen wurde. Dieses wurde zum ersten Mal beim diesjährigen Autosalon in Genf vorgestellt und hat auch ein großes Echo in der deutschen Presse erhalten.
Nachdem ich das schon mehrfach innerhalb von Proton gesehen und auch selbst dringesessen bin, konnte ich nun dann auch das erste Mal offiziell Bilder davon machen ;-).

Last weekend I visited the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2010, which took place in Putra Word Trade Center. But the exhibition can’t compete with e.g. IAA or the auto saloon in Geneva ;-).
In KL, it’s mainly Asian companies and they only show a small number of concept cars or prototypes. The most interesting booths have been Proton and Perodua as they’ve been showing some concepts for future models :-).

And there, I really like the concept Proton Emas, a small and compact electronic vehicle designed by Lotus and the Italian design company Giugiario (in the meanwhile part of the Volkswagen company). It was shown the first time in Geneva this year and also got a wide media coverage in Germany.
After I’ve seen it few times within Proton and also had the opportunity to sit inside, I now saw it outside of the company area and was now allowed to take some official pictures ;-).
