Am Samstag hab ich dann einen Ort nördlich von Kuala Lumpur besucht, an dem ich schon sehr oft vorbeigefahren bin. Und jedes Mal war ich beeindruckt von der großen, goldfarbenen Statue.
Die 42,7 Meter hohe Statue gehört zu dem Tempelkomplex Batu Caves, eine der wichtigsten hinduistischen Tempel außerhalb von Indien.
Der Tempel selbst befindet sich, wie der Name schon sagt in einer bzw. mehreren Höhlen.
Als Besucher muss man dazu 272 Stufen und knapp 100 Höhenmeter überwinden.

Hier dann einfach mal ein paar Bilder zu dem Tempel.
Diese zeigt die Stätte mit kaum Leuten, anders sieht es beim alljährlichen Thaipusam, dem wichtigsten Hindu-Feiertag, aus.
Dann befinden sich zigtausende Leute in der Gegend um die Feierlichkeiten zu besichtigen.

Last Saturday, I visited a place in the north of Kuala Lumpur which I passed by quite some times by car on the high way. And every time I was kind of impressed by the large, golden statue.
The 42,7 meter tall statues belongs to the temple complex Batu Caves, one of the most important Hindu temple outside of India.
The temple itself is like the name within one or multiple caves.
As a visitor you’ve to climb 272 stairs and approximately 100 meters to get up there.

They are showing the temple with only few people. It looks quite different there on Thaipoosam, the most important Hindu holiday.
Then, several thousands of people get there to see the festival.
